Personal Biography
Dr. Amina Peeran-Ghatala was born in India and grew up in Saudi Arabia amongst the diverse expatriate population of its capital, Riyadh. After finishing high school, she moved to India where she earned her B.D.S. Degree from R. V. Dental College in Bangalore. In 2011, she spent a year in research at NYU growing cartilage in test tubes and furthering her knowledge of bone biology as part of the Consortium of Translational Orthodontic Research (CTOR). She went on to receive her D.D.S. Degree from NYU College of Dentistry in 2015. In 2016, she received her advanced training in General Practice From Hackensack UMC Mountainside Hospital in Montclair, New Jersey. This training helped Dr. Amina become proficient in all phases of general dentistry including esthetic dentistry, pediatric dentistry, crown and bridge, restorative, surgical and widened her scope for endodontics, implants and periodontal surgery.
Dr. Ghatala’s background helps her relate to people from all cultures, traditions and walks of life. She is extremely personable and friendly and patients feel relaxed and comfortable under her care. Dr. Amina constantly strives to better herself by taking continuing education courses in all phases of general dentistry.
When Dr. Amina is not practicing dentistry she enjoys spending time with her husband toddler son and baby daughter. She is an avid baker and loves to cook for her friends and family. She and her family love to travel and explore outdoors.
